Yesterday I had the very awesome fortune to accompany my friend Leah and about 100 other invited fans and filming extras to a private screening of Struck By Lightning.

Watch Glee's Chris Colfer Light Up the Big Screen...
struckbylightning:
The multi-talented Chris Colfer of Glee proves that he is a modern-day Renaissance man in the new trailer for Struck By Lightning, which he stars in and wrote. From the looks of the trailer, it seems as though Colfer’s transition from TV to film will be an easy one and widely accepted by critics and fans alike.
Struck By Lightning is a comedy about an ambitious high schooler...

'Glee' Star Chris Colfer's 'Struck By Lightning'...
struckbylightning:
Actor writes, stars in exciting-looking new teen flicks
During high school, many people are struck with the desire to trounce all their enemies just for looking so happy to be alive all the time. This is a staple of coming of age movies and has been for a long time: Mean Girls, Heathers, Carrie, the list goes on.
Taking its cues from these classics, sans the homicidal...

Chris Colfer in ‘Struck by Lightning’ Trailer Will...
struckbylightning:
What’s better than watching 21-year-old Chris Colfer play the flamboyant role of Kurt on Glee? Well … nothing. However, his leading role in the upcoming movie (which he wrote!) Struck by Lightning looks pretty darn epic. The movie follows Colfer’s character Carson Phillips as he recalls blackmailing his fellow high school classmates into contributing to a literary magazine he...

Anonymous asked: How did you feel about the adult...
lessthan3glee:
Oh gosh, Allison Janey (is that her name? Carson’s mom) was outstanding. I don’t feel right giving away character details, but I can say that her performance was so, so raw and real, and her chemistry with Chis Colfer was surreal, I don’t think they could have chosen a better actress to play Carson’s mom.

Don’t even worry! It was nothing like mean girls! Like, there were the high school cliches (like the cheerleaders and jocks and foreign kids in the trailer) but they were portrayed in such a real way that it wasn’t cliche at all, if that makes sense. Like, the focus was Carson’s journey rather than the cliques.

Just got back from the Struck By Lightning...
carbonidiot:
all of the acting was on point, the dialogue was witty and it was both more tragic and hilarious then I dared to expect- I hope it gets good distribution because it comes from a very different place then the usual high school movie.

lessthan3glee:
Everyone was so respectful!! I was so happy! There were a few intense moments and the “important” people started applauding Chris! And people politely clapped during the credits. Everyone laughed when appropriate and I doubt I’m the only one who was moved to tears! But I think the audience took the movie in really well and everything went as planned, so to say.

Anonymous asked: AND WE THANK THE INTERNET FOR YOU! It truly is a wonderful place, though. I mean, as a kid I used to order books about glbt* issues and couples from the library's online catalogue. When they arrived, I was always so embarrassed about going to check them out... We live in a small town; I was so scared that the librarian would tell my parents. I'd hide them whenever I was reading them.....

Anonymous asked: What you said, about you being scared you might like girls and fixating on your attraction to guys- I think that may apply to me. I'm not sure if I'm attracted to just guys and can appreciate when a girl is attractive, as opposed to being attracted to both guys and girls. Idk. There's a lot of over-sexualisation of women, and not so much men, so I don't know if it's media...

You know the big theaters with stadium seating? It was one of those, and the first 5 rows were “regular people” and the rest were reserved for “important people.” I think they were like, movie production/executive people. They all looked really professional.

Anonymous asked: It's weird that you mentioned that book because I remember I used to see that book all the time at the bookstore and I used to say to my sister something like, "Why would I want to read about two guys?" and now I actively seek out books with gay or lesbian couples. I can't believe I ever thought like that.

Anonymous asked: Hello! I hope I'm not bothering you with this or anything, but I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I've always considered myself straight because I could never picture having a romantic relationship with a girl. Lately though, I find myself more and more attracted to both genders. I still couldn't picture myself with a girl and I LOVE men. I'm deeply confused..
Also, you should read “Boy Meets Boy” by David Levithan. I still have about 30 more pages left but it’s A GOOD READ.

Struck by Lightning was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
lessthan3glee:
Oh my God. I laughed, I cried, it was just…. The WRITING was so good!!!! And when it ended and the first thing on the screen said “Written by Chris Colfer” I cried harder!!! It was just… Just the best movie I’ve ever seen, and I’m not just saying that!
